As a first time mom, I knew I would have challenges. Unbeknownst to me, breast feeding would be quite the arduous task. During my hospital stay, the lactation consultant notified me that my daughter had a tongue-tie and to consider getting it clipped as she had a “lip-stick” latch. As the days went by in the hospital, nursing became more and more painful due to the tongue tie. After careful consideration, I decided to get the tie clipped. Despite my daughter nursing for a lengthy period of time, she was dropping in weight and I had to intervene with formula. While supplementing, my daughter stopped latching. I was warned this could occur, but never thought it would happen to me.
To the rescue: Mimi Fry! A friend of mine referred Mimi to me and I am so thankful she did! Mimi graciously came over to my home and walked me through the steps for re-latching. She answered all my questions in depth. Needless to say, I felt very reassured and more educated about breast feeding during our meeting. Nearly a week later, my daughter would not latch (again). She came right over, demonstrated the necessary steps and had her re-latching in no time! She was highly informative, passed zero judgement, and really took the time to hear my concerns in a professional manor. Mimi helped to re-introduced a unique bond between my daughter and I, and for that I am forever grateful.
